Capital Campaigns/Endowment, Major Gifts, Planned Giving
The Women's Center, a non-profit center, providing counseling, educational programs and information and referral services for women and families in Northern Virginia and Washington DC is seeking a dynamic fundraising professional to serve as the V.P. of Philanthropy. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the V.P. of Philanthropy is responsible for ensuring the growth and sustainability of the Center’s fundraising activities by creating and implementing a strategic development plan and executing strategies for growing the Center’s revenue. The VP of Philanthropy has the primary responsibility for the development of a major donor strategy including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors. The position will also launch a capital campaign as well as oversee marketing strategy and implementation, public and media relations, events, and volunteer activities.
At least eight (8) years of successful experience in a non-profit fundraising leadership position with a focus on individual giving and corporate foundations.
Proven track record of success in major gift solicitation.
Experience in designing and executing a capital campaign.
Strategic, innovative thinker who has demonstrated success in identification of prospects, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gifts.
Ease and expertise in working with major donors with proven ability to maintain and nurture donor relationships.
Proven measured results in executing successful media relations campaign.
Familiar with operational processes in nonprofits and legalities surrounding non-profit fundraising techniques.
Experience closing gifts above $100,000.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to eloquently speak and write about The Women’s Center’s programs.
