POSITION: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR of West Parry Sound Health Centre Foundation (WPSHCF)
STATUS: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT
REPORTS TO: WEST PARRY SOUND HEALTH CENTRE FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
LOCATION: PARRY SOUND, ONTARIO
We are seeking an Executive Director to lead a dynamic fundraising organization, reporting to its Board of Directors to keep health care local in beautiful West Parry Sound. Our health centre is located on the shores of spectacular Georgian Bay, and our facility offers the best that both nature and technology can offer. We work in one of Canada’s most modern health care facilities and live in one of Canada’s top outdoor adventure destinations. You can get from desk to dock in 10 minutes!
The West Parry Sound Health Centre is the region’s health care gem supporting a permanent population of 22,000 that grows to 125,000 in the summer months. The Health Centre supports 6 Nurse Practitioner Led Nursing Stations throughout the area. The Health Centre is accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada. It provides a wide range of hospital care and services including 24/7 Emergency; Acute Care; Specialist Clinics; Palliative Care; ICU; Cancer Care; a full range of Medical Imaging.
The WPSHCF is on an exciting upwards trajectory in support of our Hospital. We are committed to expand our programming and evolve our fundraising tactics to maintain this momentum and build sustainable funding to support the Hospital.
Reporting directly to a diverse Board of Directors, the new Executive Director will bring experience, enthusiasm, creativity and a “can do” attitude to this role in support of a staff team, the Hospital and the community as a whole. This is a permanent full-time position along with pension and health benefits.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate and empower staff.
Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail. Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated excellence in communication skills (oral and written), relationship building and teamwork.
A demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and work under the pressure of time constraints and within budget.
Current knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency rulings.
Understanding of the full range of charitable giving options including Annual and Planned Giving.
Experience with Donor Perfect, Raizer’s Edge or similar donor management system.
University degree or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
CFRE designation is an asset although not a requirement.
Breadth of experience and maturity in multiple environments.
Ability to communicate effectively and confidentially with high net worth individuals and corporations.
Comprehensive understanding of Canada Revenue Agency governance of not-for-profit corporations and foundations.
2-5 years of fundraising experience with a non-profit organization.
A valid driver’s license and own transportation is required.
