Abilene Christian University (ACU), a national leader in student success and Christian higher education, seeks an experienced leader with the vision and resourcefulness to serve as the university’s Vice President for Advancement. The Vice President for Advancement (VPA) reports directly to the President and is responsible for setting and executing the strategy in the areas of fundraising, donor relations, alumni and university relations, planned and estate giving, and university events. The VPA will cast a vision and execute strategy for institutional thriving in the advancement area, ensuring the infrastructure and staffing is in place to achieve measurable goals. Basic Responsibilities: -- Oversee the Advancement team that includes fundraising, gift servicing, donor relations, alumni and university relations, planned giving and university events. -- Establish well thought-out processes for the management of information that is to be used strategically in order to plan and coordinate work. -- Serve as a member or staff liaison on various university committees, boards and teams. -- Represent the university at various civic, religious and educational functions. Qualifications: -- ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. Candidates must have a deep understanding and appreciation for the heritage of Churches of Christ. -- Education equivalent of a master’s degree or greater from an accredited institution of higher education preferred. -- Seven to ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in advancement preferred, preferably in higher education.
