Duquesne University Athletics welcomes applications for Director of Corporate & Development Engagement who will help steward corporate and individual relationships for the department of athletics in the form of philanthropic giving, corporate sponsorships and premium seating. S/he will manage a portfolio of existing relationships with corporate and individual constituents, help identify new prospects, develop and implement successful cultivation and solicitation strategies for corporate and individual philanthropy, and manage and execute all game day corporate asset execution elements.
The Director of Corporate & Development Engagement will report to the Associate Athletic Director for Development & Corporate Partnerships.
Duquesne University Department of Athletics is an NCAA Division I member of Atlantic 10 Conference and NCAA Division I-FCS member of the North East Conference (Football & Bowling). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops a Relationship Management Process for all corporate partners, donor and premium seat holders.
Executes corporate partnership game day asset execution and manages corporate inventory including but not limited to in game, TV and radio.
Manages PNC Leadership Academy team and is responsible for all asset execution.
Leads all event management and fulfillment opportunities surrounding both athletics fundraising and friend-raising events.
Establishes ongoing relationships with individual & corporate supporters through meaningful contact.
Works with leadership in the Athletic Department to develop goals, objectives, and strategies for athletics programs and special projects.
Maintains a portfolio of corporate partners/prospects along with leadership annual giving and annual giving donors and prospective donors to acquire, retain and grow their support.
Develops effective professional relationships with staff and coaches at the Athletic Department to collaborate on revenue generation and friend-raising strategies.
Develops effective professional relationships with University departments such as Advancement, Alumni Relations, and Corporate & Foundation Relations.
Participates in Athletic and Advancement department meetings, planning sessions, and special project committees as needed.
Works with External Relations on partnership asset execution elements.
Works with Associate Athletic Director for Development and Corporate Partnerships on executing game day hospitality and guest service opportunities for men’s basketball premium seat holders.
Performs occasional travel for major games, tournaments and postseason events Perform occasional travel to visit with alumni and friends in select areas of the country Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in communications, marketing, business, or related field.
1+ years in working in college or professional athletics with direct fundraising, corporate partnerships, or related experience.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Demonstrated success in revenue generation and relationship building.
Clear understanding and commitment to the mission of Duquesne University.
Demonstrated skill in working independently and as part of a team to develop and achieve revenue goals.
Knowledge of development programs and successful fundraising best practices.
Ability to create funding plans, prioritize assignments, multi-task, plan events, write proposals, and meet deadlines.
Strong ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to establish effective working relationships, professional rapport, and effectively accomplish work within a university setting that includes a wide array of policies, processes, individuals and groups.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
Experience working with Microsoft Office as well as Adobe InDesign.
Flexibility to plan and implement events on and off campus.
Sensitivity to the need of each individual to be treated with dignity and respect as it relates to diversity in general and the Mission of the University specifically.
