The Development Officer, Major & Planned Giving, is responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a portfolio of 85-125 donors and prospective donors for major and planned gifts; identifying new prospects and determining strategies for solicitation of each. This role is the primary frontline fundraiser and will work closely with the President of the Foundation to plan, organize and implement the overall major and planned gifts fundraising strategy.
Minimum 40-hours per week; 20% in office duties/80% major gift and planned giving fundraising.
Cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of 85-125 donors and prospective donors for major and planned gifts utilizing moves management philosophy.
Identify new prospects and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies for each.
Serve as the primary frontline fundraiser for the Foundation of Wesley Woods.
Work with the President of the Foundation to create and implement the overall major and planned gifts fundraising strategy.
Set expectations, develop plans and manage processes to provide exceptional donor recognition and stewardship.
Achieve annual revenue and other targets in areas of responsibility while minimizing cost to raise a dollar.
Maintain close association with and expert knowledge of Wesley Woods Senior Living.
Write proposals and guide the development of other written materials used for donor solicitation.
Maintain up-to-date information on donors and prospects in Raiser’s Edge and utilize Raiser’s Edge for moves management.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Proven track record and minimum of five years’ experience securing five and six-figure gifts and associated moves management.
Proven track record of procuring planned gifts and associated moves management.
Demonstrated excellence in writing and proposal development.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally and in writing, as well as a highly developed sense of propriety in dealing with sensitive information.
Demonstrated proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or Raiser’s Edge NXT
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, database operations and basic computer operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with metro Atlanta/North Georgia community and donors preferred.
