The Assistant Dean for Advancement and External Affairs (AEA) for the College of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) reports to both the Dean of the College and to the University Vice President for Advancement for Schools, Colleges, Libraries, and Administration.
S/he is responsible for the development and execution of the College’s fundraising strategic plan and management of the College's advancement staff, as well as directs and coordinates its engagement efforts. The position comprehensively manages the School’s advancement program and directly oversees the College’s external relations, communications and marketing staff.
S/he has front-line responsibility for solicitation and stewardship of a portfolio of major donors and prospective donors. The position works closely with the Dean, and also supports the College’s Leadership Council.
This individual serves as the liaison between the College and the University Division of Advancement and External Affairs with regards to fundraising priorities and coordination of initiatives. At the University level, s/he partners with Alumni Engagement, Philanthropic Engagement (Annual Giving), Corporate and Foundation Relations, Planned Giving, Major and Principal Gifts. At the College level, s/he partners with the offices for research, corporate engagement, and career services as well as with faculty and staff.
