The Gladstone Institutes are a renowned center of excellence focused on using science to overcome disease. In light of its many burgeoning areas of research and related fundraising needs, the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease seeks an experienced grant writer to assist its investigators in the preparation of grant applications, including complex center, program project, translational, equipment, and training grant proposals to the National Institutes of Health, and funding requests to diverse private foundations.
Candidates should have a well established track record of critically contributing to the preparation and successful competition for such grants, as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills. They should be able to quickly grasp complex scientific issues and be thoroughly familiar with the policies, guidelines and practices of relevant funding agencies. The position also requires exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task, efficiency, and initiative. Advanced degrees (MD or PhD) and postdoctoral training in neuroscience would be viewed as additional strengths.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help a dynamic and highly interactive group of investigators elucidate fascinating brain functions and overcome devastating neurological diseases.
