Naropa University is the only post-secondary institution in the nation that grounds the student experience in contemplative education principles. Drawing from both Eastern and Western traditions and combining rigorous academics with contemplative practice and experiential learning, the University recognizes the inherent goodness and wisdom of each human being. It educates the whole person, cultivating academic excellence and contemplative insight in order to infuse knowledge with wisdom. The University, while Buddhist-inspired, is ecumenical, non-sectarian, and values ethnic and cultural diversity. A "College of Distinction" for its sixth straight year, Naropa offers ten undergraduate majors and eight post-graduate programs as well as distance learning opportunities. Naropa's advancement functions have included in the past, the annual fund, corporate and foundation relations, major giving, restricted giving, planned giving, crowdfunding and online donation, and dedicated funds for scholarships and special projects.
