Who we are looking for:
The Director of Individual Philanthropy will oversee the planning, implementing, managing and evaluating of Conquer Cancer’s individual giving program. This includes Annual (gifts less than $10,000), Major (gifts of $10,000 or more) and planned gifts. The Director will ensure that fundraising and other goals are attained and ensure the effective use of organizational resources and volunteers.
What you will do:
Sets goals and objectives for the Annual, Major and Planned giving programs
Supervises and mentors the Major Gifts team and Annual Giving Associate Director to ensure implementation of plans, providing direction, coaching and support toward effective engagement and solicitation strategies for prospective donors.
In collaboration with Division Director, develop and implement a Planned Giving program and manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects
Set metrics, moves management and accountability processes for fundraising goals and other objectives of the team members
Utilize the database to capture and track donor strategies, contacts, and to monitor team member performance
Prepares and manages the budget for the Individual Philanthropy Team
Provides leadership presence and direction at select internal and external meetings
What you need in order to be successful:
Ten years or more of increasing responsibility and goal-achievement in non-profit fundraising organizations, with proven success in managing a team toward successful outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally among and between colleagues, direct reports, superiors and external donors and volunteers for effective relationship-building and execution on work related plans and goals.
Proven success in cultivating, soliciting, negotiating, closing and stewarding philanthropic gifts at all levels, including among high net worth individuals.
Previous experience in strategic planning and management of fundraising teams to achieve or surpass increasing fundraising and other goals.
Functional understanding of the terms and principles of planned giving fundraising and ability to intelligently relate to external financial and estate planning professionals.
Comfort using database programs and office software packages.
Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred; Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation a plus
