Recognized as an "affiliate of distinction", Habitat SKC works in Seattle and King County to eliminate sub-standard housing and strengthen communities by building, renovating and repairing homes in partnership with low-income families. The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a key partner to the CEO and Board of Directors and leads all fund development and communications activities. The person filling this position must understand the integration of fundraising, communications, community engagement, accounting and marketing functions and have the ability to work with the CEO, other staff, the Board of Directors and volunteers to plan and implement initiatives that further the agencies strategic priorities.
Competitive candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of significant and progressively responsible experience in fundraising with a nonprofit organization. This record of accomplishment should include success and particular expertise in the direct solicitation of leadership gifts. In addition, the preferred candidate will possess experience managing a diverse array of fundraising, grant writing, marketing, and public relations functions. Experience planning, structuring, and leading a major capital campaign is highly desirable. CFRE or ACFRE Certification is preferred.
