The Executive Director is responsible for all major fundraising and related activities including major gifts, capital projects and funding plans, annual and planned giving, special events and community engagement. This position works closely with Network senior management and reports to the Foundation Board of Directors.
Major Job Duties:
Acts as key decision-maker for Foundation initiatives, in concert with Network management and Foundation Board of Directors, and in accordance with Hudson Headwaters Health Network mission and values.
Assumes primary responsibility for donor relations and development, strategic planning and execution, special events and is in an integral member of the community engagement team.
Develops and manages the cultivation of the Foundation gifts portfolio including annual giving, major gifts, capital projects, and planned giving.
Develops, manages, and reports on measurable objectives and outcomes in support of strategic initiatives.
Works collaboratively and creatively with board members, administration, providers, staff, patients, donors, prospects, government representatives, and community leaders.
Serves as the primary staff liaison to the Foundation Board of Directors and required committees.
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Network Development, CDO, and CEO.
Master’s degree preferred; bachelor’s degree required. CFRE a plus.
Minimum of five years progressive experience in development, including a proven track record of identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gifts and relationships.
Experience in a non-profit or health care setting is preferred.
Knowledge of technology, and its use in prospect management of information systems, is essential.
Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities with energy, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and detail.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and data-based reporting such as E-tapestry or Raiser’s edge required; knowledge of MS Publisher and Power Point a plus. Comfort level with social and digital media.
Excellent speaking, writing and presentation skills including public speaking and articulating the mission and goals of Network and Foundation initiatives.
