This position provides leadership in the design and implementation of the Major Gifts and Planned Giving fund raising programs for the Virginia Mason Foundation. This position plans, implements, and administers fund raising programs which generate revenue from individuals; collaborates with the Foundation Board and organization management to establish plans and provides ongoing analysis of plan and program effectiveness, redirecting as needed; and supervises the daily operations, including budget, and staff of the assigned area. It requires individuals with deep knowledge of current and evolving fund raising strategies, as well as the ability to test and implement strategies that will effectively grow the programs.

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience (including 2 years in a leadership role) in a non-profit fund development setting
Proven experience with Board-level volunteers and donors, in the acquisition of major gifts, and/or in community outreach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
Must possess sound judgment, customer service/donor skills, and the ability to adapt successfully to multiple tasks that occur in a rapidly changing environment.
Knowledge of Raiser's Edge and MS Office applications is preferred. A Master's degree or CFRE is also preferred.
