The College of Arts and Sciences is the intellectual heart of the University of South Florida. The College is divided into three schools, each with a unique perspective on the world—the School of Humanities, the School of Social Sciences, and the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
Positioned to play a key role in the achievement of many priorities and initiatives, USF seeks a proven major gift fundraiser to fill the role of Director of Development for the College of Arts & Sciences. The Director will report to the Sr. Director of Development for the College and will supervise a Development Officer. The Director will work collaboratively with peers across campus, build and steward relationships with the College’s various constituents and identify, cultivate and solicit prospects to secure private, major gifts ($100,000) to advance the College’s mission and goals. Travel as needed is required to meet with alumni outside of Tampa to connect them with the College and encourage their philanthropic support.
The ideal candidate will be a high-energy individual who has a passion for higher education; is eager to join a large, progressive institution; and, one who brings a record of accomplished fundraising success, with the credibility to win the trust of faculty, many of whom will be willing partners in the identification and cultivation process.
Bachelor's degree and 5 years’ experience in development
Excellent Interpersonal and Written Communication skills
Certified through CFRE
Experience in Higher Education fundraising
Proven experience collaborating with a college-wide development council/advisory board which successfully raised philanthropic dollars
Familiarity and comfort working in a large, complex organization where collaboration and collegiality is imperative for success
Additional Salary Information: Range is $85,000-90,000
