• The San Juan Medical Foundation Executive Director provides leadership and management in the direction, planning and execution of philanthropic related activities for the Foundation. The Executive Director serves as the principal staff and manager for the San Juan Medical Foundation and is responsible for philanthropic development. While reporting to the San Juan Medical Foundation Board, the SJMF Executive Director will work collaboratively with San Juan Regional Medical Center with a dotted line reporting to the San Juan Regional Medical Center CEO.
• The Executive Director will oversee all philanthropic efforts including, but not limited to:
Donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
Collaboration with SJRMC CEO and Senior Leadership team to develop and execute a strategicphilanthropic plan for San Juan Regional Medical Center
Grant writing to philanthropic foundations
Media relations, volunteer relations, donor relations, Board relations

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Communications, Public Relations or related field
•Five years philanthropic experience
•Highly productive, self-starter with sound professional judgment
•High level of professional integrity with strong negotiating and diplomatic skills
•Ability to orchestrate beneficial relationships with multiple external partners
•Demonstrated success and evidence of ability to plan and execute philanthropic activities
•Proficiency in Accounting/Budgeting for nonprofit organizations
•Proficient in the use of computers and development software.
•Possess a demonstrated track record of personal success in a hospital foundation or other fundraising arm of a
healthcare organization, or other similarly complex fundraising environment.
•Possess strength, breadth, and depth of experience in Philanthropic endeavors
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, creative writing and editing skills
•A demonstrated proficiency in grant-writing
•Willingness to work evenings and weekends and must have a valid driver’s license
