St. Francis Episcopal School, located in Houston, Texas, has announced its search for a Director of Development to begin as soon as possible. Founded in 1952 as a parish school of St. Francis Episcopal Church, the School currently educates approximately 865 boys and girls from Pre-Primary through eighth grade. Grade 9 of the St. Francis Upper School will open on the South Campus in fall 2018, with an additional grade opening each fall thereafter until the Upper School serves students in grades 9–12. The School is situated on two sites (Main Campus and South Campus) of 39 wooded acres in Houston’s Memorial area.
As a member of the senior staff, The Director of Development reports directly to the Head of School and oversees the planning and implementation of the School’s major gift and campaign programs as well as all other philanthropic initiatives. The Director of Development’s primary responsibility is to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward campaign and major gift donors. The successful candidate will possess significant professional fundraising experience and proven skills in planning, implementation, and follow-through. S/he will have the ability to articulate the School’s vision for fundraising and to execute a plan capable of sustaining that vision. Impeccable attention to detail, exemplary organizational and communication skills, and a strong ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
