We are looking for a seasoned fundraising professional who will support and execute the existing fund development programs, as well as contribute creativity and suggestions for future planning.
Corporate and Foundation Giving – Steward existing corporate and foundation donors; research and identify new corporate and new foundation prospects and send customized proposals.
Annual Giving – Steward and enhance the existing in-memoriam program; review existing direct mail program and determine next steps; execute the year end giving program.
Major Individual Giving – Provide support for the fledgling major gifts program.
E-philanthropy – Carry on the existing e-philanthropy initiatives and provide enhancements, where appropriate.
Special Events – Provide leadership to develop a strategy for the growth and development of two fundraising events for Hospice: “Hike for Hospice” and the annual gala and provide appropriate support for these events.
Reporting - Provide regular reports to management, relevant committees and Board of Directors with information on all revenue and statistical aspects of work.
Communications – Communications to support the effective execution and maintenance of fund development strategies that might include:
Donor stewardship and support
External communications including web based and social media, newsletter, and annual report and other relevant platforms.
Miscellaneous – development of appropriate infrastructure in support of the above initiatives and the fund development program in general.
Qualifications and Skills:
Post Secondary Education with a minimum of 5 years fundraising or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication, presentation and grant writing skills
CFRE designation preferred.
Member of Association of Fundraising Professionals preferred
Superb organizational and project management capabilities.
Works well in a team environment and demonstrates excellent rapport with donors, members, volunteers, board members, staff and visitors.
Committed to delivering exceptional service.
Special Skill/Aptitudes Required:
Sound understanding of fundraising principles.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
Must have a strong understanding of donor stewardship fundamentals and be able to communicate in a tactful and professional manner.
Must be able to multi-task and work to deadlines.
Confidence and sense of humour are both essential.
Must have experience using word processing, internet, database and spreadsheet software. Knowledge of Income Manager database is preferred.
Ability work outside of traditional business hours Working from a home office is a possibility being considered
Media relations skills an asset.
