King’s University College is currently seeking a dynamic leader experienced in developing and leading successful fundraising campaigns through major gift and other fundraising vehicles. The Executive Director is also responsible for providing the vision and direction of the Alumni Association, including developing and implementing programs to enhance alumni identity and the loyalty of more than 20,000 King’s University College alumni.
Working closely with the Principal and the King’s University College Foundation, the Executive Director will have responsibility for creating and leading a major fundraising campaign set to start in 2018, with the primary role of major gift fundraising. The Executive Director provides leadership in planning, coordinating and implementing all development programs, including major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations, annual giving, special events, planned giving, prospect research and donor stewardship. In addition to supporting the priority projects of the College and enhancing the fundraising capacity, the overall objective is to establish programs and design strategies that will build and nurture relationships with alumni and potential supporters.
The Executive Director must work as an effective leader, advocate and partner with senior leadership at the College, the Foundation and Alumni board members. The Executive Director leads a team of four, working with community representatives, volunteers, King’s students, faculty, and staff to set priorities, build strong affinity to the College and cultivate and solicit major gifts. The ability to organize and direct a professional staff, set individual and organizational performance goals and mentor and develop staff is essential.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of ten years’ experience in progressively more responsible appointments within the area of fundraising and alumni affairs, including the solicitation of gifts over $1 million. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, interpersonal and team building skills, and must demonstrate an understanding and ability to articulate the mission, vision and values of King’s University College. The position requires a strategic thinker who can develop and deliver an engaging vision for the fundraising campaign and the Alumni Association.
