Reporting to the Executive Director, this new position is responsible for the development and implementation of new and innovative fundraising strategies and campaigns to grow the Endowment donor base, and is responsible for managing and overseeing several Endowment projects.
Requires previous and proven success in donor cultivation and fundraising, strong writing and project management skills, ability to engage donors through phone, email, written appeals, and in-person visits, and ability to juggle multiple projects for fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. Must have experience with creating effective print and online communication materials.
The Development and Program Manager is responsible for planning and executing fundraising campaigns and will develop a wide range of marketing materials (letters, brochures, articles, press releases, ad copy) to meet/exceed the organizations’ annual fundraising goals.
Specific duties include creating and implementing a multi-year individual giving/major gifts plan that grows the individual donor base, nurtures existing donor relations and cultivates new prospects. The position requires strong writing and project management skills, ability to work under multiple deadlines, and proven success in planning and meeting budgeted goals.
Required Experience and Qualities:
Previous management position in fundraising with a non-profit association/organization. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) accreditation a plus!
Proven experience in developing and delivering a comprehensive fundraising strategy to include multiple funding streams, and fundraising techniques related to securing revenue through gifts and pledges. Nurture existing donor relationships and cultivate new prospects.
First-class communicator, with the ability to clearly write and speak about the organization’s visions and plans through strong fundraising messages and communications materials. Must be a strong and experienced writer with sound editing and proofreading skills.
Comfortable and competent in making cold calls to prospects and presentations to groups.
Proven project management and task management ability in a deadline-driven environment.
A strong team player committed working with staff to deliver programs and meet goals.
Superior attention to detail and multi-tasking skills in fast-paced environment.
Must be client-focused and able to handle confidential materials with discretion
Professional, mature, conscientious, organized, and detail-oriented individual.
Salaried position requires occasional evening and weekend work. Position includes some travel.
Solid computer skills, with the ability to master new software and technologies. Experience with donor management software, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Google Drive, MailChimp, InDesign software preferred.
