The American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) and its resource development arm, the Medical Toxicology Foundation (MTF) requires an experienced Development Officer to implement and manage the organization's long-term development plan.
The incumbent will lead the organization’s outreach efforts, and manage relationships with the organization's new and existing donors. The incumbent will create and expand philanthropic support in the form of annual fund contributions, major gifts, planned giving, sponsorships, and partnerships while simultaneously supporting the MTF's existing award programs. This position directly reports to the Executive Director of ACMT and is a remote/virtual position.
Key Position Responsibilities:
Create and execute a strategic development plan that will provide a diverse and sustainable funding base for the MTF encompassing annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, and business contracts with clearly defined goals, time frames, and metrics for each revenue stream.
Develop and implement all aspects of case statement development, direct donor mailings, appeal letters, annual report, and other donor mailings as needed.
Grow relationships and communicate directly with existing clients and creating relationships with new ones.
Identify prospective corporate sponsors, develop relationships, and solicit sponsorship to support ACMT activities.
Keep up-to-date on current fundraising programs, practices and procedures used in the nonprofit sector and inform the leadership of items that would benefit the MTF.
Acknowledgement of all gifts and donations.
Provide support and coordination to the MTF Board of Directors.
Collaborate extensively with Executive Director and ACMT staff.

Key Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in public administration, business, nonprofit management or other relevant area; Master degree desirable. CFRE designation preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of full spectrum Development success, preferably in a public health or healthcare setting, and significant experience with start-up environments.
Broad experience with strategic planning, policy and procedure development and implementation of best-practice Development programs.
Collaboration with Board members, staff, and donors to achieve organizational priorities.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to act decisively; blend of strategic thinker and tactical execution. Resourceful, with ability to change course, when necessary.
Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail, with a high level of self- accountability.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking to engage diverse constituencies.
